Los Angeles Zoo

The Los Angeles Zoo wanted to create a special identity for their 50th anniversary that underscored not just their local facilities, but also their conservation efforts in the wild. We developed a system that, through typography that referenced their monumental signage at the entrance of the zoo, combined with the suggestion of mid-century American design, to create a logo system that is robust and flexible and an identity look and feel that uses a shape language based on lush, abstracted, layered foliage and friendly images and illustrations of animals featured at the zoo.
